Measuring Guide
Diagram 1: Typical Install, Hang from Roof
Diagram 2: Cornice Install, Hang below cornice
1. Width
Measure along the ceiling exactly where you want the curtain track to run.
This is the full width the track will cover — not just the width of the window.
- For a luxurious look, choose a width that extends past the window frame, so the curtains can stack neatly off to the sides [diagram 1].
- If your window is inside a recess, measure the exact width of the recess (this is the maximum usable width) [diagram 2].
2. Height
Measure from the ceiling, or the point where the top of the track will sit, straight down to your desired curtain length.
- If the track mounts directly to the ceiling, measure from the ceiling [diagram 1]
- If your cornice hangs lower and the track must sit just below the cornice, measure from the bottom edge of the cornice instead. [diagram 2].
For a clean, modern finish:
Aim for the curtains to sit around 2 cm above the floor.
